We are excited to announce that A.S. Bryden & Sons Holdings Limited (ASBH) has acquired a 55% stake (controlling interest) in Stansfeld Scott (Barbados) Ltd (SSB).
SSB is a prominent distributor and retailer of wines, spirits, and consumer health products in Barbados, operating six Wine World branded retail stores across the country. This deal marks ASBH's entry into the premium beverage market beyond Trinidad, further consolidating our regional business interests and enhancing value for our shareholders in a key strategic sector.
In commemorating this milestone, P.B. Scott, Chairman of A.S. Bryden & Sons Holdings, expressed appreciation for the diligent efforts of Brian Cabral, his family, and team in establishing Stansfeld Scott as a top-tier wines and spirits distributor and retailer in Barbados. He highlighted the commitment to leveraging ASBH's resources to support Stansfeld Scott's employees, customers, and partners.
Brian Cabral, the outgoing Chairman of SSB, will retain a stake in ownership and continue serving as a Director.
David Franco, a seasoned expert in marketing and developing international wines and spirits brands, in addition to currently serving as Regional Business Development Director for Premium Beverages, will assume the role of interim CEO of Stansfeld Scott Barbados for a six-month period, effective March 6th, 2024.
